Developing metadata designs and gazetteer services for the Alexandria Digital Earth ProtoType (ADEPT) digital library project (PI: Terry Smith). Continuing to develop the Alexandria Digital Library gazetteer and develop associated services.

Works on understanding how silicon isotopes are fractionated in terrestrial weathering systems due to actions of clay mineral synthesis and plant uptake and use of silicon. Is lead scientist in analyzing samples of stream water, soil solution and solids, and plant and rock samples from numerous locations including Hawaii.
